PVC and PET Tamper Evident Shrink Bands

Shrink bands are used primarily for tamper-evident protection. These are PVC or PET plastic tubes, often with perforations for ease of opening. They are slipped over the cap or lid and shrunk down to a tight fit using heat. Once the shrink seal is broken, it cannot be put back in place, thus showing the product has possibly been opened and adding to consumer confidence.

Tamper Evident bands are available in a wide range of layflat sizes from 20mm to 500mm and in any length. They are available in clear or a range of colours and generic "Sealed for your Protection" or printed with a logo.

Our band are formed from tube stock so there are seamless, available in widths over 350mm wide and can be printed up 5 colours or 10 colours for seamed product. All shrink bands can be ordered with a single vertical perforation, double perforation, horizontal perforation and T perforation. Pull tabs are also available.

Custom Printed Labels

Heat shrink full sleeve labels are reverse printed on heat shrink PVC or PET, and offering glossy 10 color graphics, 360-degree image area, ability to shrink to the contours of the container, all of which maximize point of purchase appeal. Bar codes can be printed on labels.

Pre-forms

Pre-forms are pre-molded shrink bands used for tamper-evidence. Preforms have been formed so that they are open with a rim and so are just placed on the container and then passed through a heat tunnel to give a tight even seal. They are useful for those containers that do not have shoulders.
Preforms are available in clear, with a generic print, "Sealed for Freshness" or custom printed in a number of colors.

Stock Items

ECP has a range of stock items include tamper-evident shrink bands cut to the customers specifications. Tubing in clear and white also available printed "Sealed For Your Protection" is offered in rolls for use on automatic equipment or can also be cut to order. Standard colored tubing in white or black in some sizes are available. We also stock Pre-forms which are available in clear.

Multipacks / Promotional Items

Multi-packs are used to combine two or more products in a promotional package. On-pack promotions use heat shrink PVC to combine two products that are different sizes or shapes, smaller product or a giveaway. Not only will the product look great but it will be tamper-evident as well. Graphics can be added as well.

All promotional items can be printed in up to 10 colors, bar codes can be added, coupons printed on the sleeve.

Bags: Domed & Straight

Domed bags are used on containers that need tamper-evidence but do not have the ring necks used to hold the traditional Lay Flat tamper bands. The Domed bags encapsulate their products for tamper-evidence. Pump bottles, tubes and flip top bottles also use Straight bags are also used for multi-packed items.

Other Features

Tamper Bands, Custom printed labels, Pre-forms Multipacks and Bags are all available with UV additives to inpart UV resistance, Luminescence for band identification or additives to impart cold resistance in the case of freezer grade tamper bands for use on ice cream.

Application equipment/Heat Shrink Tunnels

ECP offers a line of Sleeve and tamper evident band applicators and stainless steel heat tunnels designed specifically for all PVC, PET. Tunnels can sit directly on customer's conveyor and optional stands for changing the height of the tunnel are available.

Drum Capseals

Drum Capseals are the most widely used type of drum seal. The range includes lightweight metal or plastic caps that crimp over the bung openings with a special tool. Capseals assure maximum protection for drummed products. Capseals crimp over drum plugs. Once crimped in place, they indicate unauthorized entry into the drum because the Capseal must be destroyed to be removed.

Specifications for Tite-Seal Metal and Plastic Capseals

Steel security capseals are made of quality tin plated steel which is precisely formed, lined with a chemical resistant lacquer and fitted with a heat cured vinyl gasket.

A white enamel exterior is standard or white with "Sealed For Your Protection". Multi-color custom litho printing is also available along with other colours. Available in sizes to fit 2" and ¾ " drum openings. Plastic security capseals are made from high quality polyethylene plastic and can be silkscreened with custom designs specified by our customers.

Manual and pneumatic capseal crimping tools are available for fast and effective installation.

Our Tite-Seal security capseals are manufactured by Technocraft Industries, an ISO 9002 certified company. Technocraft is the second largest producer of Drum Closures in the world with a production of over 20 Million sets of Drum Closures annually.

Tear tapes

Teartape, tearstrip, are the same product with different names. Teartape is used on the likes of chocolate boxes or cigarette packets to allow easy opening for clear flexible outer plastic wrappers on products such as tobacco, confectionery packets. Teartapes are also used for application to the inner surfaces of cardboard boxes, fibreboard, paper sacks and envelopes to allow easier opening. The narrow tape, coated with a pressure sensitive self-adhesive are attached on the inner surface of the plastic film over wraps or cardboard using an automatic dispenser.

Heat Shrinkable Teartape; ShrinkMate™

More and more manuacturers are using heat-shrinkable BOPP films to improve the appearance of their packaging. Traditional teartape however does not shrink simultaneously with the heat shrinkable films, which causes wrinkles and crinkles on the packaging and gives the end product a poor appearance. To solve this problem the ShrinkMate™ product was developed which will shrink at the same rate ( between 6-8% ) as heat-shrinkable BOPP's when heated under the same temperature. This results in aprodcut with superior appearance.
